Story
Thanks for stopping by my project page. I'm an Emmy Award winning underwater cameraman and landscape photographer currently based on the island of Okinawa, Japan.
As an ex- British Squaddie and French Legionnaire I'm used to having brain storms for adventures and often find myself in precarious situations trying to cash the crazy exploit cheques my fertile imaginations decides to pen.
In keeping with that I'm going to be walking 168km along the Eastern coastline of Okinawa Island in February 2021 in order to raise sponsorship for Testicular Cancer research via the OddBalls Foundation. I aim to accomplish the trek with 38hrs of walking, all of which will be done at night time to avoid sucking down vehicular emissions during the day.
I accomplished a similar walk two years ago but along the shorter 127km Western coastline. On that trek I raise funds for two veterans related charities. I accomplished this in a time of 26hrs of walking broken into three stints.
With regular checking Testicular Cancer enjoys a 95% curable success rate due to timely detection and diagnosis. I'm hoping my efforts will aid the OddBalls Foundation in the production of their 'Check Yourself' guides that are placed in male bathrooms and changing rooms.
My 168km shuffle between the Southernmost and Northernmost points of Okinawa Island is something I'm hoping will inspire others to engage in their very own, and very private, plum shuffle. If that allows just one person to successfully detect and survive Testicular Cancer then for me it's a trek well done.
