Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Many of us have (or are likely to be) affected by cancer within our lifetime.
My sister Rebecca died from skin cancer in November 1994 at only 27 years old. Thanks to the ongoing research of CRUK had Rebecca been diagnosed today her cancer could have been treated and survivable. I have been committed to the supporting the work of and fundraising for the charities who help those living with cancer and/or research to beat cancer, ever since.
Unfortunately my brother-in-law Steve (Rebeccas' husband) also now has cancer - it's therefore fundraising time again.
On Friday 9th September 2022, I along with 11 friends from the Old Brodleians Cycle Club (OBCC) will be heading to Lands End and on Saturday morning will commence our mammoth cycling challenge; Blood, Sweat & Gears - Lands End to John O Groats in 9 days (Circa 110 miles per day). [Not bad as the average age of the group is 60]
Dave Hopkinson one of my friends cycling with us, was himself diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma in March 2021. Fortunately thanks to the the treatment and care at St James' Hospital and the amazing work of CRUK, Dave has now been given the all clear.
