Story
Hi everyone,
Thank you for visiting our Just Giving page – we need YOU to help us make a difference!
The Oakland IT Team will be walking to the summit of Mount Snowdon in North Wales to raise Money for Molly Olly's wishes. The total walking distance will be 18 Miles. Please feel free to
donate for this worthy cause as a group of IT Geeks venture away from their laptop screens into the unknown wilderness and weather of wildest Wales.
The money you donate can be used to provide Wish's for children with life threatening illness.
An average wish costs around £500 and can be anything from a day trip with family, a computer game or supermarket vouchers to help the family.
Molly Olly's wishes currently give 40 wishes per month, this has increased 100% during the lockdown, where funding has reduced.
Here is the charity Story....
The charity Molly Olly’s Wishes was founded in 2011 by Tim and Rachel Ollerenshaw following the death of their 8 year old daughter, Molly to cancer. Molly had spent the best part of 5 years in and out of Birmingham Children’s Hospital and during that time Molly and her family realised that despite Molly’s illness they were lucky to have family nearby, good friends and a very supportive local community. However, many families are not so fortunate and can face extremely challenging circumstances with less support and may also be struggling financially. A little help can make a big difference to a family and help support their emotional well-being. Molly Olly’s wishes help children 0-18 years with any life threatening illness in three ways.
Like many charities and businesses over the last year it has been difficult for the Charity to fundraise in the usual ways but at a time when the families the charity support need more help and the demand for services has increased. Any help that you can give is very gratefully received and will help to make the dark days brighter for children with life threatening illnesses. For more information please visit www.mollyolly.co.uk
