Story

Hello, I am Nyree Marsh a 2nd year Events Management student from the University of the West of Scotland.

As part of my coursework I have to organize and stage my own event. My event is called Canteen Concerts and is quite simply a small music gig which takes place in the dining areas of local high schools/universities! For this project I am grateful to have two of my uni friends Clare and Amy on board to help with this event and it will be part of their coursework too.

I have done Canteen Concerts before for college, however I knew I wanted to change my concept this year for university - this time around fund raise for a charity.

We have chosen to raise money for Nordoff Robbins Scotland because we thought it was very appropriate that seeing as we are organizing a music gig, a music therapy charity could benefit from this.

We believe that music is such an important art and if people of all ages and backgrounds are able to benefit from music therapy to help with their learning and emotions then this is a worthy charity to raise money for.
