We are moving further, faster to help everyone affected by a brain tumour

Story

Laura was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in October 2018 and as a family we have fought really hard to find treatment options to give her the best chance of a life longer than the 12 month prognosis she was given.

It's been tough. She's endured 3 surgeries, radiotherapy and she's now on her second 12 month cycle of chemo. On top of which she's having immunotherapy in Germany every 4-6 weeks but despite this she's in her final term at university and hopes to graduate this year with a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics.

Laura doesn't do things by half, she now wants to take part in the Great North Run in September. This is going to be a huge challenge as one of the treatments has caused her painful arthritis which often makes it difficult just to walk but she wants to raise funds for the charity that has provided us with so much help and support in the last 3 years. She won't be running on her own though, her whole family have signed up to run; sister Gracie, dad Mark and mum Nicola will be by her side every step of the way.

The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, moving further, faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour. They're set on finding new treatments, offering the highest level of support and driving urgent change. They understand that when you, or someone you love, is diagnosed with a brain tumour a cure really can't wait and that 2% of the cancer spend just isn't enough.

We have been incredibly lucky with the fantastic support Laura has received from our local community and we're going to work hard to represent this fantastic charity and help move closer to a cure.
