We breed and train guide dogs to give blind people freedom and mobility

Story

A few years ago (with the help of a few beers) I decided to do something a little bit different - run a 10k. Although not 'built for speed' I successfully completed both the Edinburgh and Glasgow 10k's in 2009.

This year I am 'moving up' to a half maration and was successful in gaining a place in Great North Run (September 19th 2010).

In order to provide greater purpose I will be running to raise funds for the Guide Dogs for the Blind. My grandfather became blind in his latter years and I can understand how challenging life must become when you lose one of your senses.

I realise that we all receive many requests for sponsorship for a range of worthy causes but even a small donation will help.

Thanks

Andrew

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
