Story
Majority of this country turned into runners in the past month. We, Newcastle Ski and Snowboard Club (NUSSC), decided to join the trend; put down our pints and swap our skis with a pair of trainers for a good cause!
It’s 954 miles from Newcastle to Alpe d’Huez which was our destination for the easter trip. So, we are running 954 miles in total to raise money for Royal Victoria Infirmary!
We’ll be taking on this challenge to thank our hospital for always doing wonders. We’d like to show our gratitude and appreciation by raising money for them during these overwhelming times. And as a rowdy bunch, it will be a challenge.
This is also personally important to all of us because of our friend, Kerr Hamilton. He recently came out of coma after being unconscious for around a month. He still has no clue about coronavirus and many other things but thanks to the Ward 18 (Neurological Intensive Care Unit), he is alive.
It’ll be a collective effort and we’ll make sure to share our progress with you! We and Royal Victoria Infirmary would appreciate your support!
Thank you!
NUSSC LOVE xx
