Story
Over the past year the global recession has had a significant impact on our fundraising at the NSPCC. As we draw to the end of the financial year we are asking for your help in achieving the funds we need to continue towards our goal of ensuring that no cry goes unheard. If you are able to help we would be extremely grateful, no donation is too small.
The NSPCC’s Child's Voice Appeal aims to develop ChildLine, for children who need help and advice, and the NSPCC Helpline, for adults with a concern about a child, by expanding the services and recruiting more staff and volunteers so that more cries for help can be answered.
Every day, thousands of people phone ChildLine or the Helpline with their concerns, but cannot get through to a counsellor, due to lack of funds. Our vision is to answer every call, first time - whether from a child or an adult, at whatever time of the day or night. Until this happens we know that children will continue to suffer in silence.
By donating to the Child's Voice Appeal you will help ensure that more callers can get through for the help and advice they desperately need.
£4 could ensure that when a child plucks up the courage to ask someone for help, we are there to answer their call.
£42 could pay for a child who many have nowhere else to turn to receive confidential, one to one counselling about any issue that's important to them.
£1,600 could recruit and train a volunteer ChildLine counsellor who in their first year will be able to help up to 200 children through their worries and distress.
