Story
At NSPCC we deliver services throughout Northern Ireland to protect children today, prevent abuse tomorrow and help children recover if they have experienced abuse or neglect. We believe all children deserve to feel happy and safe. Without partnerships and supporters we would not be able to do the work we do to support children and young people.
For vulnerable children, Christmas can be a dark and isolating time, cut off from school and other support networks. After another challenging, uncertain year, we can’t leave children to cope alone. When a child makes the brave decision to reach out to Childline, we must be there to answer. Being heard is a powerful thing. And listening means we can be a part of a
child’s journey to safety. Childline is not just a friendly ear or words of advice to brighten Christmas, it can be life-changing and at times a life-saving service.
“Contacting Childline was a chance for me to just talk through things in a way I hadn’t done before. It was a relief to get it out. They actually wanted to listen, and I felt that.”
Children do need gifts this Christmas, but they also need Childline to be there when they need somewhere to turn.
Just £4 can help Childline support a child when they have the courage to get in touch.
