Story
Thank you for your donation to our two special home-grown charities on behalf of Noah's Rainbow Wish.
Sadly, in 2021, Kevin Storey Director of Active Flooring Solutions lost his 9 month old grandson Noah. Unfortunately, Noah was born with an extremely rare genetic condition called Myotubular Myopathy, this life limiting condition is physically and emotionally distressing but with the full support and guidance of the Myotubular Myopathy Trust Noah and the family felt encouraged and to battle on regardless of the outcome. This beautiful charity’s endless dedication to the families and their search in finding a cure for this cruel condition, is what makes this charity is so special. Having lived and dealt with this condition it is Noah's family’s wish that no one should have to go through the immense pain and suffering of losing their child, beloved son, grandson, nephew and friend.
Our second charity is a small but forever-expanding charity called Rubén’s Roar. Set up by a bereaved mother of a child who also had the Myotubular Myopathy condition. This wonderful charity provides ‘cuddle cots’ and ‘cooling blankets’ in the Merseyside area. These small items provide so much comfort for parents who wish to bring home, if even for a short while their precious children who have sadly passed for whatever the tragic reason. It is not until a parent finds himself or herself in a position that this ability is gratefully welcomed in dealing with their sad loss.
For Noah's family these ‘cooling blankets’ were provided to them when they needed it most, this enabled them to spend more precious time with Noah at home.
Rubén’s Roar also help families through this most difficult of times by providing small grants to low income families which can help cover the costs of important sentimental remembrances such as temporary cast acrylic headstones, life casting of hands and feet, memorial jewellery and other memorial gifts. By Noah’s family preserving Noah's hands it enabled his family to have a moment in time, which will last forever.
Active Flooring Solutions team Kevin Storey, Lucy Keher, Andrew Lomas are all celebrating significant birthdays this year and to mark the occasion are embarking on a self-challenge to Everest Base Camp trek.
