We support young people at risk of suicide to stay safe and find hope in times of need

Story

In August 2023, it will have been ten years since my friends lost their son Harry to suicide and their other two children lost their older brother, he was only 17.

At Metro Bank we are all encouraged to spend a Day to Amaze supporting a charity, so I offered my services to my friends - thinking a day of volunteering - when they asked me to partake in a mini cycle challenge.  They are doing 19 consecutive days of cycling in the shape of a wonky heart and are in full training mode.  My aim is that I will do a mini wonky heart shape cycle ride covering 20 miles in order to help raise some funds for this incredible charity.

For those that know me, my days of being super fit are well behind me, and these days I don't do more than walk the dog.  I'm a lady in her early fifties, carrying injuries in both my heels, overweight, unfit & asthmatic.  You get the picture!  I have not been on my bike for 3 years, having acquired it at the beginning of Covid.

Please join me in what ever small contribution you can make, to help raise money for Papyrus, a charity dedicated to helping those in need of support.
