Story
All praise belongs to Allah سبحانه و تعالى alone and may peace and blessings be upon His final Prophet.
In the year 1997, we at Nottingham Islam Information Point first started off with a simple table in the bustling city centre of Nottingham giving Da'wah to non-Muslims. On that very first day we started, Allah blessed us with 3 Shahadahs. This motivated us to carry on coming every Saturday, weather permitting, to sit behind this simple table filled with basic Da'wah literature and give them out to those non-Muslims who showed interest in learning about Islam.
The growth of new Muslims has increased tremendously and will continue to grow with the help of Du'at giving up their Saturdays to call the people to Islam.
We at Nottingham Islam Information Point have a Masjid to house the Da'wah and offer many services to the community. This is the first building in Nottingham to house the Da'wah literature aimed at non-Muslims and will serve as a base for fellow Du'at in and around Nottingham to come and attend our Da'wah training seminars and request literature for their universities and events.
Our objectives for the centre are:
- Da'wah Activities
- New Muslim Support
- Islamic Educational Classes
- Prayer Facilities
- Madrassah
- Youth Club
Some of the Da'wah activities we currently have in place are regular interactive Islamic presentations where we invite non-Muslims to come see and read about our rich history allowing us the opportunity to discuss any misconceptions they may have. We also invite schools and scouts groups to come and visit us where we hold presentations for the children and offer them food.
The centre has a Revert's support group where new Muslims can come and learn the foundations of Islam, receive Starter Packs and receive financial assistance and mentorship. The list of services we offer new Muslims are; Marriage Matrimony, Revert Iftaars and Eid Dinners, Ruqya & Hijama, Nikah & Walima and much more.
We also hold beneficial talks and seminars every other month and regular Halaqaat for men and women. The centre houses a small Islamic library and currently accommodate Five daily Prayers, Salaatul Jumu'ah every week. Eid Salaah and Taraweeh during Ramadhan.
The Masjid has a Games room where we provide facilities for the youth who can come and socialise with other young Muslims and learn key skills which will benefit them as a Muslim and as members of the community. The Facility includes Pool Tables, Table Tennis, Table Football, Air Hockey, Basketball Shoot Out, Darts, Arm Wrestling and Computer Gaming. Youth Clubs are held every weekend.
The centre also houses a weekday Madrassah, teaching young Muslims Qur'an with Tajweed, Arabic and Hifz.
Why we need your support
We are in need of regular donations to help sustain the Da'wah Centre for years to come and it is by the small regular donations from members of the Muslim community that can make this happen.
Please help us raise money for this ongoing noble project that carries a lot of Barakaat.
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم and his Sahabah (may Allah be pleased with them) sacrificed everything they had for the sake of Allah swt
