Story
Thanks to Tim, we (Jamie, Matt, Tim & Joe) are all entered into the 10 mile (yes that’s 10 miles not Km), 25 obstacle Tough Mudder at Belvoir Castle on 12th/13th June 2021.
We are raising money for a very personal cause. The ‘Meningitis Research Foundation’ and in memory of a little boy called Elliot Donkor Winch. He was the son of our dear friend Jamie. Jamie lost Elliot to this devastating illness in 1999. His memory will live long in the lives of all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
The work carried out by the Foundation is ongoing as there are 3,500 reported cases of the disease every year. With 1 in 10 people dying as a result. Please will you therefore consider sponsoring us however much you can afford for what we believe is a worthy cause and in memory of a lovely little boy.
As we enter our 50th year, Elliot would be entering his 25th year, so it seems fit that we push ourselves to the limits in memory of Elliot.
I know from the outside we all look like perfect specimen’s of the male form, chiselled bodies, super fit with strong minds and not a moob in site, but don’t judge the book by it’s cover.
To help you understand that this will not be a walk in the park, here is a non exhaustive list of our major injuries we have suffered over the 40+ years of friendship….
….2 x snapped achilles, torn meniscus, prolapsed disc repair, spinal fusion, 2 x broken toes, broken leg and ankle, broken collar bone, dislocated shoulder, anterior ligament tear, torn medial ligament left knee, torn medial ligament right knee, dislocated patella (knee cap), ruptured anterior cruciate ligament left knee, ruptured anterior cruciate ligament right knee and of course the obligatory hernia!!!!
If we finish at all it would be a bloody miracle. But one of us for sure will be carried across the finish line.
Thanks for your support, it is much appreciated.
So please dig deep and donate now.
