We provide help and hope to everyone living with dementia.

Story

Hadrian's Wall originally ran from coast to coast but today we are left with only sections of this famous landmark, which cuts through the Northumberland National Park and is now a World Heritage Site.

A group of over 500 walkers have registered for this extremely tough one-day event. Starting at the Brocolitia Roman Fort, we trek a 26 mile section. The route will take walkers over hilly terrains, crags, cliff edges, through both forests and barren landscapes and around several lakes.  Old Roman towers and forts dot the countryside for almost the entire length, which at 26 miles forms an enormous challenge for the group. Starting at 6:30am, and with an estimated minimum completion time of 12 hours, we should, hopefully, all be finished before nightfall and raising a glass to loved ones.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
