Story
The Old Man of Stoer which lies off the West Sutherland Coast is one of the most iconic sea stacks in the British Isles. I will be undertaking a 1 1/2 mile skin swim (trunks and no wetsuit) in 6 degree waters and be the first person to swim around the stack. The RNLI Julian and Margaret Leonard Lifeboat will be in attendance while I make the swim which will be made into a short film.
As a former fisherman, current offshore worker and sea swimmer I highly value the work of the RNLI and the efforts made by its' crew who help those in need at sea. The Lochinver Lifeboat is not just for Lochinver but for the whole of the northwest. The crew is made up of volunteers, old school friends, former fishing colleagues, men with families and jobs but above all selfless and brave men. They give up their time to keep us all safe. They are always there for us so we should always be there for them.
Can I ask you that you kindly donate to Lochinver Lifeboat Station to help maintain the lifeboat, for crew equipment and training so they can continue to launch operations in times of need 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
