Story
Those of you who know me will be well aware that I like to ride motorcycles in a 'sprited' fashion. Back in 1972 I even set a world reCord, achieving an average speed of 162mph on a Triumph trident powered sidecar outfit!
So it's entirely fitting that I should be riding an exceptionally slow 40-year old moped to raise money for charity.
The Trident Owners Club are entering the John O’ Groats to Lands End run on a 50cc moped, which will take six days, ending on 1st April. They are assembling a team to ride sections covering between 75 and 150 miles, and have invited me to ride the route from Telford to Glastonbury, a distance of just over 150 miles.
John Young is supplying the moped – an NVT Easy Rider of 1970's vintage.
This is in aid of Help for Heroes, a charity that I feel passionate about, following the death of one of my son's school friends on active service in Afghanistan. So please give whatever you can so that my slow speed suffering is not in vain.
