Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 8th May, I hope to walk 10k in aid of NASS. The event is in Richmond Park, Richmond. I am getting in training by walking for an hour every morning. At present, I am up to 5k and hope to increase this as I get nearer the day.
Three years ago, I had a job to walk 100 yards without being in great pain and discomfort. I was very lucky and went on an Anti TNF treatment and that has changed my life for the better.
Why am I doing this walk?I want to help NASS raise funds to help others, as I have been so very lucky.
Raise money for NASS: NASS is aiming to raise an extra £100,000 this year to:
- grow and develop the volunteer branch network so more people can benefit from regular gym and hydrotherapy sessions
- improve diagnosis waiting times and access to appropriate management and care by promoting the Looking Ahead report to health professionals, commissioners and patients
- fund a 3 year research post to speed up the identification of genes involved in AS
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So please dig deep and donate now. I would be so grateful for any contribution to help me reach my target!

Update, Sinday 8th May.
I'm really pleased that I completed the 10K walk today. I was delighted to be accompanied by my daughter, Alison and Son in Law, Rob and my grandson Harry. Harry walked every step of the 10K with me and I'm so proud of him!
Apart from a giant blister on my foot and tired legs, I'm delighted to have done this walk and would like to say a big thank you to all who supported me with messages of good luck and the donations
