Story
After the success of last year's midnight walk for Mind, I decided that in 2018, we would support The Albert Kennedy Trust. AKT is a charity that provides safe homes, mentoring, training, advocacy and support to young people who are homeless or living in a hostile environment after coming out to their parents, care givers and/or peers. As a young gay man myself, I have the huge privilege of having accepting family and friends around me, but I am aware that not everyone has that. As a result, both myself and that accepting support network would like to give back... and we need your help.
From 7pm on Wednesday July 18th until 7am the next day, a group of us will be taking turns to cycle, run and row on a static bike, a treadmill and a rowing machine respectively with the aim of keeping the machines moving for 12 hours straight, all in aid of raising money for The Albert Kennedy Trust.
Every £25 donated keeps a homeless LGBT young person out of the cold and into the safety of LGBT-friendly emergency accommodation for one night. Any and all donations are warmly welcomed.
If you're donating for a person in particular, please mention them in your donation message so they know!
