Story
We are just a group of "normal" women who share a love for running. We got together in November to help motivate, challenge and keep each other sane during a long, covid Winter and we are still going strong. FOMO has played a big part in many of us completing challenge after challenge that we never thought we'd do.
This March we are aiming to run 2000 miles between us to raise money for the Bangor based charity FightED. We have been lucky to have had the support of our group to see us through the darker months and hard times Covid has thrown at us, but for those who are in the grips of an eating disorder it has and continues to be a really tough time.
This is an issue that is close to my heart; I know a number of people who have, or have had, an eating disorder, and have experienced disordered eating myself. I am personally aiming to run 120 miles this month as part of this challenge, and am going to use the challenge to train in the hope of managing a sub-2 hour time in the Belfast virtual half Marathon in May!
FightEd aims to help support families and educate families on how to support each other, and with the normal fundraising events unable to happen, are in need of the vital support. Please help support us to our individual pledges and the group to reach our 2000mile goal.
