Story
Since Dad's MND diagnosis we've been on a mission to do whatever we can to help beat this hideous disease. Devastatingly we lost Dad at the end of last year, but it won't stop us trying make sure that other families in the future don't have to go through what ours has.
I am definitely not a cyclist! I didn't own a bike until recently when I inherited Dad's after his diagnosis. But after some persuasion, I've signed up to Doddie'5 Ride. I've roped in a good friend Nathan (also not a cyclist) so we can embarrass ourselves together! To say we are a long way out of our comfort zone would be an understatement; 22miles on a bike is 22miles further than I've cycled on the road for about 22years!
If you can donate anything at all, it would be hugely appreciated. MND is not incurable, it's underfunded.
My Name5 Doddie Foundation was established in November 2017 by Doddie Weir and close friends and supporters. Doddie was diagnosed with motor neuron disease in December 2016 and is committed to help find a cure for MND and support fellow sufferers.
The response to the launch of the Foundation has been incredible with thousands of people offering their help and support in a variety of innovative and enterprising ways. The Foundation has raised more than £7 million in three years and already committed £4.5 million to research projects and in grants to support patients
