On the 26th September I'm going to be competing in a duathlon, in the Spirit Of Belron Challenge, to raise funds for this brilliant charity.

Since Belron began their partnership with Afrika Tikkun in 2002, they have raised over €4 million for Afrika Tikkun, enabling them to build community centres and provide a wide range of programmes, pre school, after school activities,  life skills training and emergency relief.  These programmes have in turn enabled Afrika Tikkun equip vulnerable children and young people to see a way out of their impoverished situation by giving them hope for their future.

Afrika Tikkun is a charitable organisation based in South Africa whose approach is to transform and uplift impoverished communities by focusing on orphans and vulnerable children and equipping them with the skills needed to succeed in life. They do this through a broad range of child development programmes run from community centres in the townships. By working with leaders within the communities and training local community leaders to deliver the programmes Afrika Tikkun ensures that ownership and skills remaining the community thereby ensuring long term impact and stability.
