Story
I am utterly privileged to have been offered a place on the London Marathon 2021 through the Lily Foundation!
It means I get to take part in such an iconic event in memory of my beloved nephew Noah. Last year he was diagnosed with mitochondrial disease (Mito) and sadly he was taken from us suddenly last September aged 2. It has been utterly devastating on the family.
I have never run a marathon before however I know when the training gets difficult all I have to do is remember why I am doing this!
I cannot stress how amazing the Lily foundation have been to my sister and brother-in-law. The work they do to support families going through this devastating disease is amazing, therefore any donation you can make will go along way to supporting other families and help to hopefully one day find a cure.
Thankyou all for the support!!
The Lily Foundation
"A Marathon is an event where everyone is equal and ordinary at the start but a legend at the finish" The London Marathon is always an incredible event that creates everyday hero's in the fight against Mitochondrial Disease. 10 million people in the UK suffer from diseases in which mitochondrial dysfunction is believed to be involved, while every day in the UK a baby is born who will develop mitochondrial disease. The disease is debilitating, there is no cure and lives are cut far too short. The Lily Foundation's ultimate aim is to one day find a cure for mito. As the UK's leading charity dedicated to fighting mitochondrial disease, our mission is to support people whose lives are affected by the condition, raise awareness and fund research into its prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Please support my London 2021 challenge and together we will make a difference.
