Story
I am a keen sportsman and love playing rugby, hockey and cricket at school. I also particularly enjoy cycling.
This year, one of our school charities is the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Trust and on 12th May, pupils and staff from my house covered the 26 mile distance from the centre of Bath back to school to raise money for this charity. My friends either ran a 1 mile leg of group 5 mile relays or, like me, cycled the whole distance. We left Bath in the morning and cycled along the canal towpath until Devizes from where we completed the rest of the distance along roads and tracks. We all worked together as a team, it was a lot of fun and luckily I wasn't too saddle sore at the end!
I have seen two of my team-mates being taken to hospital from the rugby pitch by the Air Ambulance. It was also used to airlift a schoolfriend to Frenchay Hospital following a serious car accident last year. Tragically, he died. It was in his memory that a lot of us cycled/ran at the weekend. I have been really overwhelmed by the support that everyone has given me - I never thought that I would be able to raise so much money.
Thank you so much.
