Story
Jacqui Campbell, our great friend and neighbour and member of our
all female book club “No Frontiers”, inspired us all throughout her
cancer journey by showing such powerful strength and resilience
despite all she faced.
Jacqui knew the benefits of exercise and that together as a group of
women we would achieve anything. We saw the amazing work the
hospice did for Jacqui, and we could see how much she and her
family were being supported.
Jacqui asked us in the summer of 2019 to raise funds for the Foyle
hospice. An all girl sponsored cycle was agreed upon for September
2019, even though for some of us it had been 30 years since we had
been on a bike.
So the bikes were bought and the weeks of training began and in
September we all took off on the sponsored cycle. Being women of a
certain age and after 20+ miles “some of us” struggled up that hill
back to the hospice, but every one of us crossed the finish line like
spring chickens, faces full of smiles..........
To our delight Jacqui was there and cheered us all on as we arrived
back to the hospice.
We are cycling this year again, this time in memory of Jacqui to help raise the much needed funds for the Foyle hospice.
Shine on Jacqui!!!!!
Thank you
