GALWAD BRYS: HELPWCH BOBL ROHINGYA YM MANGLADESH

Mewn gwahanol ffurf, rydym oll wedi teimlo effaith coronafeirws ar ein bywydau yma yng Nghymru. Rydym ni oll hefyd yn ymwybodol fod coronafeirws yn bygwth iechyd difrifol ein cymdogion oddi cartref

Credwn fel trefnwyr Tarian Cymru y dylem ymateb i’r bygythiad sy’n wynebu'r cymunedau hyn ledled y byd.

Bwriad prosiect Ni Yw Y Byd yw codi arian a chefnogi gwaith dyngarol rhyngwladol sy’n mynd i’r afael â’r coronafeirws yn rhai o wledydd tlotaf y byd gan ddechrau'r mis hwn gyda gwersyll ffoaduriaid Rohingya yn Cox’s Basar ym Mangladesh.

Dywed Razia Khatun, menyw sy’n byw yng ngwersyll ffoaduriaid yn Cox’s Basar ac sy’n gwneud masgiau yn ogystal â hyfforddi menywod eraill i wneud masgiau:

“Fe wnaethom ffoi o Myanmar er mwyn goroesi ac rydym yn ei chael hi’n anodd yma, ond mi fydd Covid-19 yn cymryd ein bywydau, os na wnawn ni ymgymryd â mesurau yn erbyn ymledu’r feirws, oherwydd does gennym ni ddim llawer o opsiynau er mwyn cadw pellter cymdeithasol a chorfforol yn y gwersyll.”

Wrth i’r feirws ymledu drwy’r byd, mae’r cymunedau sy’n byw mewn tlodi eithafol dan fygythiad enfawr. Dyma gymunedau sydd eisoes yn byw â diffyg dŵr, bwyd a gofal iechyd. Mae rhai wedi’u gorfodi o’u cartrefi ac yn byw â chyflyrau iechyd megis HIV.

Mae angen codi arian ar frys felly a chefnogi gwaith dyngarol elusennau sy’n gweithio ledled y byd â chymunedau tlotaf y byd. Wrth i’r nifer o bobl sydd wedi’i heintio cynyddu, mi fydd cymunedau tlotaf y byd yn cael eu heffeithiau’n ddifrifol wael. Mae rhaid ymateb AR UNWAITH.

Plîs cyfrannwch a rhannwch y ddolen gyda’ch teulu, ffrindiau, a chydweithwyr.

I ble’r eiff ein rhoddion?

Yn ystod ein mis cyntaf o godi arian byddwn yn cefnogi gwaith Cymorth Cristnogol yng ngwersyll ffoaduriaid y Rohingya yn Cox’s Basar, Bangladesh.

Mae Cymorth Cristnogol wedi bod yn gweithio â’r gymuned Rohingya ers iddynt ffoi o Myanmar tair mlynedd yn ôl. Maent wedi bod yn rhoi cymorth dyngarol i 150,000 o ffoaduriaid Rohingya a 50,000 o aelodau’r gymuned tu allan i’r gwersyll yn Cox’s Basar ym Mangladesh. Wrth gydweithio ag asiantau eraill, maent wedi bod yn darparu cymorth hanfodol ym meysydd iechyd, dŵr a hylendid, bwyd a lloches.

Mae byw mewn gwersyll ffoaduriaid yn anodd. Mae’r gwersylloedd yn llawn dop ac mae’r diffyg hylendid yn golygu fod potensial i’r coronafeirws ymledu’n gyflym iawn trwy’r gwersyll. Ar draws y gwersylloedd, mae 80% o deuluoedd yn adrodd fod o leiaf un aelod o’r teulu â chyflwr meddygol sy’n mynnu triniaeth. Yn ogystal â hyn, mae 80% o deuluoedd yn nodi fod nam i’w llochesi dros dro a dim ond 67% ohonynt sydd â sebon.

Wrth gefnogi Ni Yw Y Byd, byddwch yn cefnogi gwaith Cymorth Cristnogol a’i partneriaid sy’n gweithio yn y gwersyll wrth iddynt geisio rhoi stop ar ymlediad y feirws yno.

Bydd eich arian yn eu cefnogi i:

• ddarparu PPE i’r gweithwyr iechyd yn y gwersyll

• adeiladu gorsaf golchi dwylo ger mynedfa’r 10 canolfan iechyd

• dosbarthu citiau hylendid i 50,000 o bobl yn cynnwys glanweithydd dwylo, sebon, cannydd ar gyfer arwynebau, eitemau ar gyfer hylendid mislif

• hyfforddi 85-100 o weithwyr iechyd i allu trin pobl wedi’u heintio

• ddefnyddio gwirfoddolwyr ac arweinwyr crefyddol i godi ymwybyddiaeth o’r feirws a rhannu negeseuon am hylendid i’r bobl yn y gwersyll yn eu hieithoedd brodorol.

Beth sydd wedi digwydd i apêl wreiddiol Tarian Cymru?

Mae holl arian yr apêl wreiddiol wedi ei wario ar roi offer gwarchodol i weithwyr iechyd a gofal yng Nghymru. Erbyn hyn mae'r awdurdodau yn darparu llawer mwy o offer i'r gweithwyr. Felly nid yw'r apêl wreiddiol yn derbyn unrhyw gyfraniadau newydd. Mae'n debyg bydd yr apêl yn dod i ben ond rydym yn monitro'r sefyllfa o ran darpariaeth o offer gwarchodol yng Nghymru am ychydig misoedd.

Nodwch fod arwahanrwydd llwyr rhwng gronfa'r apêl wreiddiol, ac apêl newydd Ni Yw Y Byd.

Mae holl drefnwyr Tarian Cymru / Ni Yw Y Byd yn gweithio ar sail wirfoddol ddi-dâl. Mae'r holl roddion Ni Yw Y Byd yn mynd i'r gwaith dyngarol.

Diolch o galon i chi am gefnogi apêl wreiddiol Tarian Cymru rhwng Ebrill a Gorffennaf 2020.

Plîs cefnogwch apêl Ni Yw Y Byd!

URGENT APPEAL: HELP ROHINGYA PEOPLE IN BANGLADESH

Coronavirus has affected us all in Wales. We are all aware that coronavirus is a threat to our neighbours’ health across the world.

We, the organisers of Tarian Cymru, believe we need to respond to this threat at once.

The purpose of Ni Yw Y Byd is to raise money and support international aid to tackle Coronavirus within these communities. This month we will be raising money for the Rohingya refugees who live in refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.

Razia Khatun, a lady who works in the camp in Cox’s Bazar making masks and also teaches other ladies to make masks said:

"We fled Myanmar to survive and we are struggling, but the Covid-19 epidemic will snatch our life, if we don’t undertake proper measures against spreading of virus, as we don’t have many options for maintaining physical distancing in the camp."

As Coronavirus spreads this community is facing an enormous threat. Living in a refugee camp is already challenging at the best of times. Camps are overcrowded and lack proper hygiene which increases the potential for the rapid spread of the coronavirus. Already this community is struggling for clean water, food and hygiene care. Many have been forced to leave their homes and are living with existing health conditions such as HIV. In addition, 80% of families report having problems with their temporary shelters and only 67% report having soap.

Money needs to be raised at once in order to support this community. Please donate and share this link with friends, family and colleagues.

Where will our money go?

During our first month of fundraising our money will support Christian Aid’s work in the Rohingya refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh.

Christian Aid has been working with Rohingya men, women and children since they were forced to flee Myanmar three years ago. They have been providing humanitarian assistance to 150,000 Rohingya refugees and 50,000 host communities in Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh.

Working with other agencies, they have been providing critical support covering health, water and sanitation, food and shelter for both those living in the refugee camps and their host communities.

The coronavirus pandemic compounds the situation and puts their lives at increased risk.

By supporting Ni Yw Y Byd we will be supporting Christian Aid and their partners who are working to help stop the spread of the virus.

Our money will support them to:

• Raise awareness of the virus and share hygiene messages to people in the camps in their local Rohingya languages. They are doing the same with the host communities through community volunteers and religious leaders and are also using posters and sharing messages using megaphones.

• Help doctors in the camps receive training so they can treat infected people and train other doctors in health facilities.

• Conduct door-to-door handwashing training sessions.

• Christian Aid expects to train 85-100 healthcare staff on infection, prevention and disease control. They’re also ensuring healthcare staff are equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE) and that handwashing stations are available at the entrances to 10 health facilities.

• In addition, they will build additional handwashing stations throughout the camps, and distribute hygiene kits (containing antiseptic liquid and soap) to 50,000 people.

What has happened to Tarian Cymru's original appeal?

All money from the original appeal has been spent on PPE (personal protective equipment) for health and care workers in Wales. The authorities are now providing much more PPE to these workers. Therefore the original appeal is not currently accepting any new contributions. The original appeal is likely to end but we are monitoring the situation regarding the provision of PPE in Wales for a few months.

Please note that there is complete separation between the original appeal fund and the new Ni Yw Y Byd appeal.

All Tarian Cymru / Ni Yw Y Byd organisers work on an unpaid voluntary basis. All Ni Yw Y Byd donations go to the aid work.

Thank you very much for supporting the original appeal of Tarian Cymru between April and July 2020.

Please support the Ni Yw Y Byd appeal!
