Story
We are two water loving girls, the sea call's us but as we live so far from the coast we have decided to take our wild swimming into the river, and not only this but during the winter months! Baby it's cold in there! Despite this we love to face the challenge and feel the numbness, tingles and burns! From November through to April we hope to swim 60 times; an average of once a week each.
Neither of us have ever swum in the winter...or even on cooler summer days! We have decided to brave the water without wetsuits as a challenge to promote maintaining positive mental health and to support the local charity The Abingdon Bridge.
The Abingdon bridge is local to us and we both have real drive to help the young people of Abingdon. Lorna works with young people struggling in school and Alison supports primary aged people and their families in a local school.
The work that TAB does is amazing! Please spur us on to dip in the freezing Thames for this super cause!
We will post updates of the temperature of the water, photos of our swims and any wildlife spots that we see as we do them.
We mostly swim in Clifton Hampden, get in touch and come and watch us for support if you can!
