Story
I'm running the London Marathon to raise money for Maggie’s cancer charity.
On Sunday 23 April 2023, I will be running 26.2 miles in my first ever London Marathon and I'm proud to be running on behalf of Maggies cancer charity.
Maggie's centres give those with cancer a quiet, supportive place to process their diagnoses, to grieve, to feel safe, feel cared for and most importantly, to feel understood.
It supports mums, dads, husbands, wives, sons, daughters and relatives going through cancer with ongoing advice and guidance, but needs funding to be able to do so. More and more patients are visiting Maggie's to speak to their benefits advisors about rising bills, and the charity has found that 56% of people with cancer missed hospital appointments over Christmas due to the cost of living crisis.
Maggie's is very special to me, my very brilliant partner Mark and his three children. The charity has had a huge presence in the family's life, supporting the children's much loved and much missed mum, who died of cancer in 2020. Without the help and dedication that Maggie's provided, things would have been even tougher for them all.
So now, more than ever, your support is needed.
If you would like to help me raise money for Maggies, please donate, even just £1 helps.
100% of donations will go to Maggies (plus GiftAid) to help those living with cancer, and each pound will motivate me to complete what will be a very difficult Marathon.
Thank you! xx
