Story
Thats right. I'm doing it again. London to Southend for the fourth year in a row for a cause very close to my heart! Thank you so much for visting my page, i can only assume it means you're willing to donate to this amazing charity.
Robert Antonio Levy, aged just 16 years old was murdered a few yards from his home in Hackney whilst trying to stop a fight. Robert's nature was to be kind, considerate and was always thinking of others. On 16th September 2004, Robert went to the aid of a younger child who was being threatened by a schoolboy with a knife. In doing so, Robert suffered multiple stab wounds at the hands of a 15 year old schoolboy. Attempts were made to save his life, but tragically he died.
The bravery of their son has inspired Ian & Patricia Levy to create the Robert Levy Foundation so that the issues surrounding knife crime are highlighted and brought to the attention of everyone. They hope that through family events, school mentoring programmes and by being a general presence within the community young people can be encouraged to find appropriate ways to become better citizens. Thus preventing further loss of life.
Robert was my cousin and I am emotionally exhausted every time I hear of another family going through the pain and suffering that we all still feel. So, I want to support this non-profitable charity and raise some money to contribute to thier involvement and presence within their local and wider community. Sheer commitment and determination will see me through this 59MILE (may I remind you!!!) bicycle ride, but your donations will make me go even faster I am sure. I will be cycling from London's Victoria Park allllllllllllllllllll the way to Southend's Priory Park.
Wish me luck! And thankyou.
Just incase i didn't mention....this is the fourth time.
