Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in February 2020. My world fell apart. Cancer? Me? It can't be right - I feel absolutely fine and normal. But it was. I was scared. What if? I needed to fight this and be strong for my three daughters, my partner, family, friends and myself. They needed me, and I needed them. With no time to lose, I had major surgery in April 2020 at the height of the pandemic and full restrictions. You are dropped-off at the door of the Christie hospital, and that's it. You are then completely on your own and in the hands of people you have never met; the volunteers, nurses, doctors and surgeons. I now have first hand experience of just how dedicated and caring these wonderful people of our amazing NHS are. They are there for you minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day. I will be forever grateful for everything that was done for me and the care I received. I'm very lucky - my surgery was a success. I have fully recovered and I’m cancer free! But lots of people enter The Christie every day and are not all are as fortunate as me. That's why I want to raise funds to help towards fighting this terrible illness. It's only a matter of time before the world's scientists and laboratory technicians find a cure for all cancers. Let's help them along the way. Thank you!
