Story
4Louis provide support for families who suffer the trauma of miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal/infant loss or the death of a child. They supply memory boxes to hospitals to be given to bereaved parents, and also support midwives and nurses with other vital equipment such as moses baskets, cuddle cots, and camera equipment. The charity also fund bereavement rooms where families can spend precious time with their baby or child in a peaceful and homely environment while they prepare to say goodbye.
In January 2020, my beautiful Nephew, Isaak Richard Wilson Jacobs, was born sleeping in York Hospital at 33 weeks. This was an incredibly tough time for all of our family, but particularly for Isaak’s mum and dad who have been through the worst thing imaginable. Shortly after Isaak was born, 4Louis offered some comfort by gifting a memory box containing beautiful, meaningful items for them to cherish forever.
I want to give something back to this amazing charity so that they can continue to support bereaved parents during their darkest days. That’s why I decided to sign up for the Great North Run 2020. Unfortunately 2020 couldn’t go ahead but my place has been deferred to September 2021. Running isn’t something I’ve ever really been able to do so it’s going to be a huge challenge for me but I’m determined to do this in memory of Isaak.
