Story
I will be running my 4th London Marathon (after being postponed from April 2020 due to that thing they call COVID!) in April 2023.
As those of you that know me well, my mummy has Alzheimers. She was officially diagnosed back in 2016 the year after my daddy passed away. Along with my younger brother and sister we do shared care to enable her to stay in her little bungalow with her dog and hope this can continue for as long as possible.
Mind you the way she is going she will out live us all :-)
After running once for Neurofibromatosis and twice for C-R-Y this time I have decided to run for United Response. It is a much smaller charity than the likes of Dementia Uk and Alzheimers Uk.
United Response support adults and young people with disabilities to live the life they choose. That includes people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism and mental health support needs.
I know times are very hard at the moment for most of us but a small donation would be amazing if you can. Thanking you all in advance for taking the time to read this.

Since 1973 United Response has been fighting for a society where everyone has the right to live the life they choose, no matter their disability. United Response's first service was a single house for twelve adults in West Sussex. Now, we operate in over 350 locations, employing over 3,500 staff and supporting over 2,000 people. The core of our work is supporting people with learning disabilities and mental health needs to live independently. Increasingly, our services are developing into place-based community hubs where we facilitate active community involvement among the people we support. Everyone has the right to feel connected, have choice and respect, build relationships, be recognised for their strengths, and call their communities home. Your donations support people with learning disabilities to develop skills and gain confidence to live fulfilling and active lives.
