Story

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

I am at that age and stage when so many of my friends and family are being affected by the impact of living with dementia. One in four people over 80 have it in some form, and support for them and those who care for them is vital. In a confusing landscape which is often hard to navigate, the work of organisations such as the Alzheimer's Society is what enables many to keep going.

I have got the running bug, big time, and whilst I don't want to badger my friends and colleagues for sponsorship every time I do a big run, this one feels momentous, and I know it will be easier to run those hilly thirteen point one miles if I have support for a great cause. So please sponsor me if you can!
