I completed Race for Life 5km twice in the last 5 years. I originally entered in 2007 in memory of my mum as it was the anniversary of her birthday, which was also the sad anniversary of her passing away. When I was a young child, my mum was diagnosed with skin cancer, sadly losing the battle on her birthday in 1993. She was just 39. I have also recently lost my Grandad, my Mum's Dad, to cancer. I miss them so much.

This year, I decided a new challenge was needed to make people want to continue to sponsor me and help raise awareness of cancer, hence entering Race for all 10km in Leeds on 8th July 2012. I am raising money on behalf of the Jane Tomlinson Appeal this year who support various cancer charities such as Cancer Research, Macmillan Cancer and the Yorkshire Cancer Centre. I believe this cause does fantastic work in raising funds and awareness amongst these issues so decided to give my support to them this year.
