Story
Since I was in primary school and my deputy head teacher held an assembly all about his London marathon experience I have always dreamed of taking part myself.
For those of you who know me, you will know that running does not come naturally to me. Although I do try my very, very best. What I lack in talent I make up for in enthusiasm.
The furthest I have ever run is half marathon, 13.1 Miles, 21.08KM and that included a walk break. So taking on a marathon is challenge to say the least. Its going to take a lot of training and determination and a big commitment from myself and also my family.
I am taking on this challenge in aid of Pendleside Hospice. Pendleside is close to my heart and my families after they took great care of my grandad in his final weeks. Not only did they take great care of him but they also supported us. the work they do day in, day out is outstanding, take a look at their website www.pendleside.org.uk to see for yourself.
I know many of you will already be aware of the fantastic work they do and many of my family and friends will have personal experience of them at some point in their lives, a sad but true fact of life, 1 in 3 people will develop cancer.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and I will be very grateful if you could support me and my efforts and donate as much or as little as you can afford.
Thanks Nikki xx
