Story
On 3rd October I am hoping to run the twice cancelled London Marathon, after an eventful year of on/off training which included four months with no running due to a broken humerus. It feels a huge challenge to even get to the start line after all this, let alone the finish, and your sponsorship will help keep me motivated.
I will be running as part of The Children’s Society’s team to raise awareness and vital funds to help them continue to run local services for children in this country who feel scared, unloved and unable to cope. The Children’s Society is a national charity that helps thousands of children and young people who desperately need our support, who often have nowhere left to turn. They support vulnerable young people across a range of issues, including those experiencing or at risk of child sexual exploitation, domestic violence, substance misuse, mental and emotional health problems, or children who go missing or run away from home or care. Supporters around the country fund services, volunteer, and join campaigns to show children and young people they are on their side. In doing so, we help make a real and positive difference to thousands of children's lives.
This past year has put untold pressure on charities so raising my target is how I can play my part to help get their finances back on track.
