We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

For those of you who know me you will all know that this will be my 3rd time doing this half marathon for Diabetes UK for those that don't you do now!

First time i was pregnant, second time my mum was in hospital having had her toe amputated followed shortly by her leg.  This time i'm running it for my mum who passed away April 4th this year.  Diabetes was a huge problem for her and as a result it slowly ate away at my mum.

Before her death my mum's blood sugar levels was in the 27.0s which led to other problems.  A cure needs to be found and more suitable ways of giving insulin to those who can't inject themselves properly.  The device given to my mum wasn't suitable for her and she struggled to inject herself from the January of this year.  More care needs to be given by doctors practices and by nurses at the hospital.  No one checked up on my mum carefully enough to realise that with readings in the 20s what she was having and the way it was given wasn't acceptable.

Please help me remember my mum and those others out there loosing ltheir battle with diabetes by donating anything to this cause!
