Story

Hey there, thanks for looking at our event page! We're Nikki and Bunty, and we're all types of queer, and on Saturday May 25th at 2:30pm we're going to be streaming DESERT BUS the world's most gruelling video game - LIVE -  to raise money for Amnesty International! Join us at http://live.nikkiandbunty.com/

From "debates" over whether it's okay to tell children that gay people exist, to "theocracies" stoning people to death because they're gay, there are terrible human rights violations going on all around the world. Amnesty International are a wonderful organisation who fight for every person's human rights, and they do it worldwide.

They're not just limited to LGBTQ+ rights either, they take on the whole range of human rights violations that we see popping up every day. It's just in the venn diagram of "human" and "queer" we're right in the middle!

So what are we going to do to encourage you to give generously?

"Desert Bus" is a video game, and we're going to play it, in full, streamed live on YouTube, on Saturday May 25th. But it's not an ordinary video game. In "Desert Bus", you drive a bus to Las Vegas through the desert, in a straight line. Nothing else happens. Except, the bus veers off to the right every now and then, so you can't just tape down the accelerator button and leave it running. The 8 hour journey through the desert happens in real time, so you get to watch us slowly driven to distraction by the world's most dull video game. And at the end of the game, you score precisely ONE point.

Come watch us attempt to entertain you for EIGHT STRAIGHT (and yet also very gay) HOURS!

If we reach the stretch goal of £2500 we will do the return journey too  -that will be SIXTEEN HOURS of mind numbing bus driving... Wanna see us subjected to that? DONATE!

There will be more than just the bus though. We'll have a skype number open for people to call in and chat, and no doubt we'll have other little side challenges going on to keep us going and the donations coming in.
