Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
This year on September 4th 2022, myself and my two beautiful girls Ellie and Lily will be taken part in Walking 10K alongside our Hospital Heroes and trying to raise as much funds possible to give back to an amazing cause.
This Charity is extremely close to our hearts and have been a massive part of our lives for the last 9years. It all began with Ellie who was born with Congenital Cystic Adenomatoid Malformation - Pulmonary Airway Malformation. When born Ellie was taken into NICU where she spent a few days being closely monitored before being discharged, upon discharge Ellie has then went through several different X-rays, CT Scans & MRI Scan, we have also had to undergo an operation at the age of 3 years old to remove 2/3 of her right lung and also had several breathing tests aswell as other different tests carried out aswell.
Then we fast forward to 2020 when Ellie's baby sister Lily came along and was taken straight up to NICU and ventilated at birth where she spent the next 6weeks of her life. Lily was born with a Type 4 Tumour which caused significant damage to her insides. Organs damaged, nerves and muscles completely overstretched and unsure on where this would lead us later on in life. Lily went through a life saving operation at 3days old to remove her tumour that weighed over 1 kilo in weight but she was not out of the woods yet. On Lily's discharge at 6weeks old she spent very little time home before she was then blue lighted straight back to Glasgow where she then had to undergo another life saving operation within the space of 8weeks Lily went through two operations to save her life. Lily has had several delays in milestones but she does not let nothing stop her she pushes herself to the best that she can to prove all the doctors wrong. She has an Neurogenic Bladder, Kidney issues, Heart problems, we are working hard with getting those nerves and muscles as strong as can be however her legs can give way on her alot. We still have some undiagnosed issues with Lily aswell but we know that whatever happens she will get through it like she has the rest.
Through every hospital appointment or hospital stay we have we always receive the most amazing care.
We can never thank the staff in Glasgows Children's Hospital enough and the charity for all the amazing work they do.
To all the surgeons, doctors, nurses, play staff, volunteers, counsellors who have been there every step of the way with both our girls we thank you and will forever be in their debt.
We would love if you could donate to give back to and amazing Charity that is very close to our hearts and pay towards helping another child/family who have to go through spending alot of time in hospital.
Thank you x
