Story

On 26th of April, Team Marakon – Danny Ryder, David Atkinson and Nikhil Patil plan to take part in the London Marathon with the goal of progressing sports science by seeking answers to questions like

–        What are the effects (mental & physical) of running a dressed like Apollo Creed (Test Candidate: Danny Ryder)

–        What are the side effects of running a marathon with only 6 weeks of training  (Test Candidate: Nikhil Patil)

–        Can a diet of Avocados, Tomatos and bread be used a substitute for performance enhancing drugs (Test Candidate: David Atkinsion)

There is also a silver lining to what many of you would consider a foolhardy endeavour that is most likely to end up in pain and tears. We are going to be running on behalf of a charity - the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre (MSRC).  We have signed up to support a fight against a disease that has taken a toll on the life of individuals very close to some of the team members.

The MSRC is a small and innovative charity that is highly focused on helping those that suffer from MS live their lives to the fullest - by providing unbiased (i.e. not linked to medical research funding) information, support and counselling.  They get pretty much all of their funding from sponsorship of participants in major events, and the London Marathon is by far the biggest and most important event for them each year, so it is this is the main event which provides them with the resources to help improve many, many people's lives.

We are committed to see this effort through and would appreciate your help and support in pursuing this noble cause.

Thank you for your support  in advance
