Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We are a team from RAF Wittering and nearby units and we will competing in the Nijmegen 4 day march starting 15 July 14. It is based in Holland and started in 1909 and each year has grown bigger to an estimated 46000 people to compete in 2014. We will be doing 100 miles spread across the days with an extra 10kg of dead weight to be carried. For more info on the event follow http://www.4daagse.nl/en/event/history.html

A teammate of ours, Liam Green, inspired us to use this chance to raise money for a good friend of his doing something he loved as well. Hiking through the lakes he had an accident and fell 650ft. Emergency services were called and the Patterdale mountain rescue team (PMRT) were first on the scene. With help from other teams they did everything they could but sadly a friend was lost that day.

After several operational tours to Afghanistan and competing in triathlons, half marathons and marathons it is only fitting that we as a team should support Robert pascoe's story and the PMRT. By raising money we will be able to keep the team functioning and trying to save countless lives each year. It is a brave and, in the conditions they face, tough job to do but without them there would be many more friends lost so thank you!
