Story

Thanks for visiting!

I'm running a 10k in Leeds on the 4th of July...

...Now, for those that know me well it may sound a bit rash, but it's in support of Martin House Children's Hospice and I'll be doing it with my mate Sarah.

Ten years ago Sarah's daughter, Ella Kate, passed away at the age of 11 months after suffering from Krabbes disease.

The last few months of her life were made much more comfortable by the staff and palliative care available at Martin House Children’s Hospice and the support that was offered to herself and her family.

Martins House Children’s Hospice exists to complement home life and hospital and community care and accepts referrals for children with life-limiting illnesses and conditions. Referrals can be made at any time after diagnosis and no charge is made for the care and support given. Short stay care is offered to the young person and their family at intervals throughout the year where staff are on hand to discuss clinical and non-clinical issues. Martins House also offers physical and emotional support towards the end of the young person’s life and afterwards.

The WEEKLY running costs for Martins House Children’s Hospice are £30,000 and the hospice is almost entirely reliant on donations. Please donate whatever you can afford to help to assist the continuing work for families that still need their care and support.

So get your virtual hand in your cyber pocket and cough up!

Not only will you get to support this worthwhile charity but you get the satisfaction of putting me through at least 9.5k of torture and making me look like a sweaty beetroot in running shoes...

Thanks for your time and feel free to pass this page on to anyone who you think might want to support us...

Cheers!

Nigel
