20 mile swim · 8 May 2010
After recovering from a serious shoulder injury I will be attempting do complete a 20 mile swim at some point in the near future. Why? That's a good question.
The answer: "because I've always wanted to do it". We all spend too much time procrastinating and putting things off because we can never find the time. In the past 3 years my life has changed and I have changed. I had become very selfish and self obsessed, but now things are different, I'm different. It's time to give something back. I have been inspired by family and children, my new found friends and relationships. I have learnt to look inside myself and find the person I want to be.
Why Children's Wish? Why not!! From 1983 to 2002 I was a member of my local round table. I helped raise 1000's of pounds for many different charities. It's a good feeling to know that you can do something for someone else and have fun at the same time.
I am very fortunate to have been blessed with 3 wonderful children. They are all fit and healthy and now beginning life's great adventure and making their own mark on the world. Some children are not that lucky. Therefore, if I can contribute to making one dream come true for just one child I would consider it to be a privilege.
