Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Over the past four years, since my beautiful wife Jane received the devastating news that she had Breast Cancer, I have entered many fund raising cycling events and felt very proud to do so. In the majority of these I have simply paid the entry fee, which helps towards the funding of the relevant charity and then cycled the 50 to 70 miles.
I feel it would be unfair to ask all of you, my family and friends, for sponsorship on every event, continually requesting that you put your hands in your pockets and give yet more of your cash away. However, in September 2010 thanks to all your amazing generosity I amassed the fantastic sum of over £1500 for Breast Cancer Care and last year raised over £1100 for St.Margaret's Somerset Hospice.
The 2014 London-Surrey 100 is a truly great opportunity for me to take part in the largest charity fundraising cycling event in the world and I thank St Margaret's Somerset Hospice for once again providing me with the chance to cycle a little over 100 miles from central London through Surrey and back to the Mall, along with 24,999 other fundraisers.
St Margaret's Hospice provide a very special hospice care, looking after many patients throughout Somerset. The majority of their spending is met from donations of one kind or another and eighty percent of their income needs to be raised through public donation. The care offered this year will cost over £9 million and any amount you can sponsor me will have an immediate impact on their ability to continue in the care for patients and their families.
