Story

Hi Everyone and thank you for stopping to read my page,

As you may be aware I have spent the past couple of years walking the gorgeous countryside surrounding Henley on Thames, which has been amazing both for my health and peace of mind. It has also made me realise just how lucky I am to be able to enjoy the beauty of it all.

More recently I took the decision to join The Chiltern Centre (supporting disabled children and young adults in a caring, nurturing environment) as a trustee, where I hope to offer support and guidance along with a group of wonderful, hard working and truly inspiring people. It was here that I accepted the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in February this year with a small group of us, as a major part of our 2019 fund raising activities. We are attempting to raise as much money as possible for what is a fantastic cause and it is my personal aim to raise at least £6,000.00.

I am well aware that you all give lots of your hard earned money to many different causes and charities but on this one off occassion, can I please, please ask you to dig again and dig deep to help me reach my target. I will be so grateful for all your donations and if you can think of any colleagues, friends and family who you can also convince to donate, then please do share my story.

If I make it back in one piece, I'll be sure to catch up with each of you for a beer and say a very big thank you.

Best Wishes, Nigel

The Chiltern Centre provides bespoke, individualised care to young people with learning disabilities. It gives them opportunities to socialise, learn new skill, move towards greater independence and have fun. All the while it provides their families with a much needed break from their caring role.
