The Tour '21 team, led by Geoff Thomas, are committed to raising £1m to support Cure Leukaemia and The National Blood Cancer Trials Programme.
I am delighted, excited and apprehensive, in equal measure, to be selected to support this incredibly important cause by taking part in the challenge of a lifetime. I've loved riding my bike since I was a kid and I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to do that against an incredible backdrop combined with a massive personal challenge along with a commitment to help others.
Cancer patients and treatments have unfortunately been affected given the focus on Covid in the past 12 months. If it weren't for the concept of accelerated trials, the covid vaccines being distributed now would still be years away from being available. It is now time to re-focus and re-double our efforts on fighting all kinds of cancer and there is no better way to tackle blood cancers than through the National Trials Acceleration Programme (TAP) funded by Cure Leukaemia.
I have a whole host of varied personal reasons for getting involved, however my key commitment is that I will utilise every influence I have to create awareness, raise money and support the amazing work carried out by the Cure Leukaemia team.
