The Highland Cross is a remarkable event. It crosses from Kintail in the West coast to Beauly in the East coast. A total of 50 miles are covered, with a 20 mile run over rugged terrain followed by a 30 mile cycle. Over the last 29 years a total of £3.2millin has been raised. Five charities this year will benefit from funds raised by the cross including the Highland Hospice and the ARCHIE foundation.

Doing the Highland Cross this year is special for me as I turned 40 in April. Whilst this is my first Cross, team mates Roddy and Tony are more experienced with several Cross successes behind them. Tony has done 20!
