Story
You couldn’t write it…. A couple of years ago, having done the 8 weeks training, I had to pull out of the big night as my BP had gone soaring! Today 27 fully trained stand up comics turned up at the Glee club with their skills honed and focussed in readiness for their 5 minutes of glory! 400 spectators were scheduled to arrive at 4.45pm and at 4pm we learned that there had been a mix up between The Glee Club and Ultra Comedy meaning that the booking had not been confirmed, that the venue was shut with no hope of opening because of staffing issues and the show was therefore postponed! Needless to say all responsible are extremely apologetic and are planning the alternative date. I hadn’t asked anyone if my crew to pay for seats so they are not an issue but I have had a number of very kind charitable donations with some rolled over from before. I have endured 16 weeks of training and will deliver my set in the coming weeks at the Glee Club , to warrant your kind support, it just won’t be today! I hope you’re all OK with that, what a pain!! Nigel
Mission Impossible!!! I'm in the midst of 8 weeks of excruciating coaching (Strictly style) to become a stand up comedian and make people laugh!! As I said.....impossible! or is it?? You can find out by buying tickets (from me) to the event on 10th July and/or donating to CRUK here.
I went along this journey a couple of years ago but was forced to pull out at the last minute. Thanks to those of you who have so generously then, I’m glad to be able to offer you the chance of giving all over again!!
Thanks everyone and look forward to seeing you if you can make it.
