Story
Hi all, thanks for visiting my JustGiving page
In June 2015, I was diagnosed with an aggressive
brain tumour called a glioblastoma. Many people with glioblastoma survive only for a short time after their diagnosis so things looked bleak for me and my family.
After surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, I was offered the chance to try something new, known as DCVax® - L. This involved using some of my own immune cells to help fight the tumour. Three and a half years on, I'm still here, there's no sign so far of the GBM reappearing.
I feel incredibly lucky and I want to make the most
of my life, as well as giving something back to others facing a brain tumour diagnosis.
So I've taken up running and plan to take part in
the Barcelona Marathon in March 2019 to raise money for the Brain Tumour Charity. A year ago I couldn't run a bath, have never been a runner and can now manage a 5k in a reasonable time, this means I'm going to need all the support you can give.
The Brain Tumour Charity is the worlds leading
brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. It's committed to saving and improving lives and it's moving further, faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour.
Anything you can donate will help The Brain Tumour Charity to find a cure, faster, so that more people like me can face the future
with hope.
Thank You.
