Story
I came across Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) some years ago. As a pilot (in my youth) I was enthralled at how it uses light aircraft to access hard-to-reach areas to provide all sorts of humanitarian aid. And as a solidly Christian organisation MAF also appeals to my fundamental belief in spreading God's word and His love through acts of charity and every kind of support to remote communities that are virtually impossible to reach by road. When challenged by my daughter to swim the Strait of Gibraltar in 2014 I immediately put together a plan to support MAF through my swimming endeavor. Thanks to donations from people such as you I raised over £5,000 for MAF when I swam from Spain to Morocco in 2015.
I will be 71 years old when I attempt this new challenge of the Strait of Bonifacio, which lies between Corsica (France) and Sardinia (Italy). Depending on the currents and the route taken on the day the swim could be up to 15km long. The plan is to make the attempt in the last week of September 2022.
I would love to have your support. Please visit http://www.maf-uk.org/ to see the terrific work that MAF does.
