Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page created to collect donations for Breast Cancer Care in Memory of Kim.
Kim was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2011 and had surgery in the following January with chemotherapy following for several months. After a short break she was on chemotherapy almost continuously from early 2013 until late summer 2014. Throughout this period Kim refused to consider herself a victim of cancer, rather she was a patient with cancer. Despite increasing pain and discomfort her resolve remained unbowed and she only became a victim when she took her final breath on 24th September 2014.
It was clear throughout her life that Kim was a special person, if there was any doubt about this it was completely dispelled in the period leading up to and immediately following her death. She was held in the highest regard by everyone. Amazing tributes have been paid to her by friends in the Cat Fancy, her former work colleagues and many friends and family.
Kim’s said that when she ended her journey those that wished to could offer a donation to one of two charities, Breast Cancer Care and the Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice in Reading. You can donate to Breast Cancer Care through this page, a separate one has been set up if you wish to donate to Duchess of Kent.
